Traveling to Kashmir was a dream from the time I started seeing pictures of amazing mountains and beautiful lakes of Indian Himalayas. The whole trip was planned by a couple of friends of mine whom we met during our trek to Sandakphu an year earlier.

We followed an itinerary starting from Srinagar and traveling towards east to visit Ladakh before flying back from the Leh airport. It was an itinerary well balanced with short drive times and including a lot of attractive places on the route. But the route itself is really the attraction in the Srinagar - Leh route.

Kaziranga, Majuli, Central Arunachal and Sivasagar 15 nights 16 days

Day 1: Guwahati - Kaziranga National Park: Start from Guwahati before noon and reach Kaziranga national park by evening. Stay overnight at Kaziranga National Park.

Day 2: Kaziranga National Park - Majuli Islands: If the elephant safari is open do the safari early morning and then you could do a jeep safari as well. After Kaziranga national park activites are done reach Jorhat before the last ferry leaves to Majuli Islands. Reach Majuli Islands and check in at the hotel.

Nameri, Tawang & Meghalaya 10 nights 11 days

Day 1: Guwahati - Nameri National Park: Start your journey as you arrive at Guwahati and proceed to Nameri National Park today. The journey would take approximately six hours and the roads would be wide and you wouldn't gain too much altitude today. Stay overnight at the Nameri Eco Camp or a similar hotel overnight. If you reach early you and if the season is right for river rafting it's a good sport to enjoy at Nameri.
